I crafted that mother-of-pearl, which my dear wife found and selected on the beach, into an amorphous shape without altering its form. I set it in a 925 sterling silver setting and secured it with 14-karat rose gold prongs. I set a garnet at the center of the shell to complement its luster. One of the necklace’s most beautiful features is the rose gold clasp—handcrafted by me—where the pendant is attached.
